Mark Pawlak

Founder & President

As the President and Founder of Silverbrook Development, Mark Pawlak has spearheaded the company's investment, development, and construction operations for years. During his career Mark has played a pivotal role in the creation of more than 500 residential units and the successful execution of over $250 million in development projects. Since establishing the firm as a solo entrepreneur in 2015, Mark has positioned Silverbrook Development as one of the local forces in residential development.

Mark initiated his real estate career in 1990 at Griffin & Associates, a renowned company specializing in the development and construction of various housing units and retirement facilities. By 1995, Mark ascended to the position of Vice President, overseeing Griffin & Associates' complete Construction Operations division and managing all aspects of the development lifecycle. During his tenure, Mark successfully led significant projects, including multifamily subsidized apartment complexes, upscale high-rise apartments, condominiums, single-family homes, master-planned communities, housing tracts, care facilities, hotels, commercial, and large industrial developments.

Mark possesses extensive experience collaborating with various government and public agencies. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration and Accounting. Mark actively contributes to the community as a board member of the AIPAC Southern California chapter and a sponsor of the NextGen Program, in addition to supporting numerous other international and local charities.

Oksana Hodan

Managing Partner, CFO

As the Managing Partner and Chief Financial Officer at Silverbrook Development, Oksana Hodan holds the responsibility for all financial operations, going through all the analysis, tax planning, and the comprehensive management of Silverbrook Development projects and investments. In addition, Oksana plays a crucial role in overseeing and structuring transactions, as well as managing debt and equity placements.

With her career spanning over two decades, Oksana has excelled in accounting, asset managing, developing, and constructing a diverse portfolio exceeding $500M in single-family, multifamily and commercial real estate across three continents.

During her professional journey she gained valuable experience in public accounting with well-known firms such as PwC and Ernst & Young, where she improved her CPA skills set. From 2002 to 2006, Oksana was working as a project manager at WestGate, a real estate development firm specializing in luxurious vacation homes.

In 2006, Oksana transitioned to a leadership role at ConcertVibe, a real estate company, where she managed to be a Director of Real Estate and Development Finance. In this position, Oksana was instrumental in planning and executing the company's real estate expansion strategy, focusing on major projects.

David Gelt

Managing Partner, Development & Construction

As the Managing Partner overseeing Development and Construction at Silverbrook Development, David Gelt is tasked with the comprehensive management of development, permitting, pre-construction, and construction activities within the company. In his capacity, David is an integral part of the executive team, contributing to feasibility underwriting and due diligence. Furthermore, he serves as the managing officer for the company's affiliated General Contractor. With an extensive career spanning over two decades, David has successfully developed and constructed a diverse portfolio in various construction projects.

David embarked on his professional journey by specializing in estimating and managing large-scale commercial construction projects at Pacific Builders, including the development of an industrial business park and a high school. Subsequently, he transitioned to roles at Summit Developments and Thompson Homes, where he managed the entitlement and construction processes of infill residential development projects. Throughout his career, David has overseen the construction of hundreds of single-family and multi-family dwelling units, successfully repositioned hotels, facilitated the entitlement of a retail center, and advanced the Specific Plan and Environmental Impact Report (EIR) for a 5,000-acre master-planned community.

David holds a Master of Real Estate Development (MRED) degree from the University of Southern California (USC) and a bachelor's degree in City Planning, achieved as a scholarship athlete at San Diego State University
